Herbal Iced Teas
Herbal teas are one of the best drinks out there, in my humble opinion, but I don’t know about you, but I hate hot drinks in the summer. I just can’t do it. One cup and it’ll take me hours to cool down again and as a result, I didn’t drink a lot of tea in the summer, that is until I started making my own iced tea. I love iced tea but as a diabetic, buying iced tea is just not an option if I have any hope of keeping my sugars in control (and don’t get me started on the diet options!). The teas on the market today are so full of sugar that they might as well as be pop. Making your own herbal teas is a great way to avoid excess sugar and having a healthy, refreshing drink on those hot summer days!
Take a look at these wonderful recipes that you can easily make right home! Easily make it in a French Press if you’re using loose-leaf or if you’ve got the teabags, then throwing the bags in a pitcher with some hot water works just as well (or put the loose leaf in some tea balls and off you go!).
